What it is and why it matters
Integrity means being honest and ethical, and doing the right thing even when nobody is checking. Businesses run on trust, and one dishonest act can undo years of it.
Real-world example
In the nonprofit work, the rule is simple: never post a client's name, photo, or story without a signed media release, even when it would make a great post.
On the software side, we only say the product does what it can actually do today. No overpromising, and no claims we can't back up.
My personal goals
- Say “I don't know, let me check” instead of guessing
- Own my mistakes quickly and fix them
- Keep customer data private, always
